We take our responsibility as stewards of your gifts very seriously and work diligently to keep our costs to a minimum. In 2008, fundraising and other administrative costs comprised only 2.26% of our expenses — our lowest ratio ever. More than 97% of all donations received went directly to programs that help the poor.

Our 2008 Annual Report shows some of the wonderful and varied ways your gifts transform lives. The numbers within the report may quantify the aid given, but numbers alone cannot truly reflect the abundance of love shared, the countless lives saved or the magnitude of hope restored through your gifts.
Elmer, 5, arrived at a nutritional center we support in Guatemala weighing just 16 pounds — the typical weight of a healthy 6-month-old baby. Today, thanks to the compassionate efforts of people like you, Elmer is a robust, smiling boy.
He was emaciated, with arms and legs that were as thin as sticks. The tiny boy was lethargic and withdrawn. His big, brown eyes were filled with sadness. A lifetime of suffering had taken its toll.
But Sister Ana Cristina and the staff at a nutritional center we support saw the divine light within Elmer. With a combination of love, proper nutrition and a healthy dose of prayer, precious little ones like Elmer are nursed back to health. The transformations that occur in centers like these are truly miraculous.
