Headquarters
Food For The Poor dedicated its new headquarters in Coconut Creek, Florida on January 17, 2007 with a ceremony that also marked the organization’s 25th Anniversary. Food For The Poor is the largest charity in Florida and the foremost provider of aid to the Caribbean and Latin America. This new building consists of office and warehouse facilities for more than 300 persons and results in significant cost savings and more efficient operations, as employees had previously been located in three separate buildings in Deerfield Beach. The transition from rental space to owned corporate headquarters provides the organization with a substantial cost reduction.
Since 1982, we have provided over 40,000 homes for destitute families. The cost savings realized from our new corporate facilities will enable us to expand the aid to the Caribbean and Latin America, while continuing our emphasis on maintaining the lowest operating cost ratio possible.”
In addition to remaining the largest international charity in the United States, Food For The Poor continues to rate among the most highly respected charities in the nation.
Food For The Poor does much more than simply feed the millions of hungry poor in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. Since 1982, we have provided clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and emergency relief, with more than 96% of all donations going directly to programs that help the poor.
