Recent Earthquake in Honduras — Magnitude of 7.1
Food For The Poor is monitoring the most recent earthquake that occurred this morning in Honduras. CNN reports that early Thursday morning an unexpectedly powerful earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.1 occurred 27 miles from the popular vacation spot of Roatan, which is the largest of Honduras' Bay Islands.
Residents of Honduras are urged to stay out of their homes until the disaster response government agency advises that the current emergency situation is safe and the aftershocks have subsided. Also this morning, Belize and Guatemala were placed under a tsunami watch from the Central American National Weather Service.
