The thirteenth annual Food For The Poor Gala “Catch a Tropical Breeze” will be held on Saturday evening, February 2, 2008 starting at 6:30 p.m. The Gala will take place at The Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida. Guests will enjoy an elegant cocktail hour, gourmet dinner, extravagant silent auction and dance the night away. The gala will begin with a sensational silent auction during the wine tasting reception. Unique wines, exquisite jewelry and exotic vacation escapes are among the varied offerings. Through the ongoing commitment and support of the Boca Raton community, the destitute families of the Caribbean and Latin America are blessed with new homes. Each year, the number of homes built in honor of our gala attendees increases. In the Caribbean and Latin America, the poor often live in shacks made of scraps of metal, plastic or even cardboard, with dirt floors that turn into mud when it rains.
