Child of the Month — Trisha
For 8-year-old Trisha Richards, Jamaica is not a land of idyllic beaches and tranquil holidays. The Jamaica she was growing up in was filled with poverty, fear, hunger and a lack of education. The hillside shack she and her siblings were forced to live in was made of old tarps and other discarded materials. Trisha and her siblings felt ashamed of their house and were constantly afraid of “bad people” harming them. Their useless roof did little to keep rain out. Their floor was constantly turning into a muddy mess and their clothes were always wet. The lack of electricity prevented Tricia from studying or reading after dark. The little girl was starting to lose whatever hope she had for a better life. Your support is crucial in helping children like Trisha who need the stability of a safe house to live in. Please consider becoming a member of Food For The Poor’s Child of the Month Club by lovingly offering your compassion to a child who greatly suffers. “And whoever receives one child such as this
in My name receives Me.” (Matthew 18:5)
