Adonay’s Story

Child of the Month, Adonay Join Our Children in Need Program

“Today, Adonay is a bright, energetic boy. He has been living in his current boys home for almost three years and is very happy here. He and the other boys in the home have a vegetable garden behind the house. This garden not only provides food for the home, but also enough surplus to sell to neighbors and even a local restaurant.

During his years living on the streets, Adonay did not attend school. Although he is behind in his grade level, he now gets good grades and says he loves to read. He is extremely appreciative of the opportunity to receive an education and says he studies hard every day

Thanks to generous people like you, children like Adonay are rescued from dangerous living conditions and given a new opportunity in life. With a safe home to live in, enough food to eat, a loving, supportive environment and an education, these children have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Adonay asked to pass along a message to those who support his home. He said, “There are a lot of kids here who don’t have anywhere to live and who don’t have enough to eat. There are a lot of kids who need help.”

Adonay realizes the challenges and dangers of life on the street, and he cares about those who are not as fortunate as he is. He said, “When I pray, I ask God to take care of the kids on the street and also the kids in this home.”

As the conversation concluded, Adonay said with innocent certainty, “God will bless those who support this home now and those who help in the future.”
