Jocelyn’s Story
After enduring severe neglect and abuse before her rescue, Jocelyn has adapted rather quickly to her new orphanage. She is a smart little girl who loves to help others. The once shy and sullen little girl’s personality has opened up a lot more to her caretakers. Jocelyn can be found caring for her younger brother and sister as well as other little children around the home. She changes diapers, makes up beds, fills bottles of milk, and helps with homework. Overall, she acts as a parental figure to her two younger siblings.
At her new home, Jocelyn is receiving the love and attention that her natural parents did not offer her. She also receives treatment for her left eye. She studies, plays and has even made a best friend. Her favorite things to do are to study and “jump rope.” Explaining her aspirations of one day becoming a doctor, Jocelyn commented, “Because doctors help people.” The hearts of innocent children like Jocelyn are so pure. Please become a member of Food For The Poor’s Child of the Month Club and offer your help to little ones who yearn for loving care. For a child in need, you can help heal the wounds of the past while offering hope for the future. Can you think of a more meaningful gift? “And whoever receives one child such as this
in My name receives Me.” (Matthew 18:5)
