Maria’s Story
Thanks to your generosity, Maria is being cared for by one of our supported orphanages — a place she claims God brought her to. The precious girl has discovered a family that loves her, and having compassionate caretakers has made all the difference.
“I used to have family at home, but it’s not like this one. “Here, they’ve always attended to me, always taken care of me. Here, it’s just like you are in a normal family.”
In the orphanage, Maria attends school and has plenty of friends. Slowly, the memories of her abusive past are being replaced by the joys that come with receiving compassionate care. In her new home, Maria receives counseling, daily nutrition and education.
Within a minute of meeting Maria, one senses God’s infinite love residing in this little girl’s heart. “Here, I’ve learned about God… I’ve learned so much about God,” she said. “I’ve even learned how to forgive my family.”
When severely abused children arrive at our supported orphanages, they normally don’t smile or interact with others for several weeks. But through your support, their caretakers gradually ease these little ones’ fears and teach them to trust again. Your generosity not only heals the pain of the past, but helps to provide a future for precious children.
May God bless you for your compassion.
