Talia’s Story
After both of her parents died, Talia Estrada’s young life was saved by one of our supported nutritional centers in Guatemala. Neglected and deserted, Talia entered the center at an alarmingly low weight and her body was riddled with parasites and infections.
Our partners nursed her back to health through daily nutrition, vitamins and medicines. Today, the staff is attempting to place her within an orphanage. Talia attends kindergarten occasionally, but not as much as she should. Her grandparents, whom she lives with, are very poor and cannot afford to send her regularly. This little girl’s biggest wish is to attend school more frequently. “I like homework,” she beamed. Talia still feels quite alone and needs your loving support. She claims that her toy ragdoll is her best friend. Talia wishes to be a “homemaker” when she grows up. She enjoys washing, cleaning and hopes to learn how to cook one day. This modern-day “Cinderella” is in desperate need of a future — a future you can help provide. After suffering unimaginable pain at such early ages, children like Talia need the kindness of strangers to help heal the wounds of the past while creating a brighter tomorrow. “Make known to me Your ways, LORD;
teach me Your paths.” (Psalm 25:4)
