Forty Days of Thanks
When we think of the Thanksgiving holiday, we often think of joyous times to gather together with family and friends. We share food and drink, laughter and memories, and most importantly, our time with each other. On such an occasion, it’s hard to imagine that in parts of the world, countries like Haiti, Jamaica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Honduras, there are countless people homeless. They are starving and have little hope for a better life. This Thanksgiving, setting aside 2 quarters every day for forty days, less than the price of a cup of coffee brewed at home, you can change the lives of those who otherwise go without. Your 50 cents a day, combined with the gifts of others, will help change the struggle of the starving to have hope. This year we want to give the destitute hope through a life-changing experience. Our Forty Days of Thanks project focuses on the most basic thing in life — shelter. Seven weeks before Thanksgiving, Forty Days of Thanks uses a simple method of fundraising: we’re asking each family to set aside 50 cents a day, or more, for 40 days . Through your compassionate gift of $20 you have the power to help break the cycle of poverty — and restore hope — for the poor. Please, do what you can to help today. Please join us in helping our less-fortunate brothers and sisters. By sharing our gifts with others, we can make an enormous difference in their lives. Sincerely,
