Forbes Magazine – In a survey of the 200 largest U.S. charities, Food For The Poor’s charitable commitment ratio was an impressive 96%. Forbes Magazine reported an average of 85% for this measure, which shows how much of an organization’s total expenses went for its charitable purpose, excluding management, overhead or fundraising.  Food For The Poor’s fundraising efficiency ratio of 97%, contrasted with an industry average of 90%, demonstrates the share of gifts left after deducting fundraising expenses.   December 10, 2007

Charity Navigator – Food For The Poor received the coveted 4-star rating for the sixth consecutive time.  According to Charity Navigator, “We are proud to announce that Food For The Poor has earned our 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances.  Only 12% of the charities we’ve rated have received at least two consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Food For The Poor outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible.  This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Food For The Poor from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of the their trust.”

Chronicle of Philanthropy – Ranked Food For The Poor as the 2nd largest international relief organization in the US, a position ahead of last year’s ranking of 3rd largest. Food For The Poor is now ranked as the 10th largest overall charity in the United States, up from last year’s ranking of #13 in 2006.  October 30, 2007

Ministry Watch – Food For The Poor received a 5 Star Financial Efficiency rating, the highest possible score. FFP is among the upper echelon for cost efficiency within the MinistryWatch.com database, where it ranks 12th out of 434 ministries.  December 2007
