Goods in Kind Donation - Make a Difference
Goods-in-kind donations have the potential to change lives in important ways, from providing lifesaving nutrition to supplying the educational materials needed to break the cycle of multi-generational poverty.
While Food For The Poor ships thousands of containers of goods each year, it’s impossible to quantify how lives have been improved through the generosity of our donors. The smile of a child receiving a hot lunch, a glass of milk or a new pair of shoes is priceless. The look of relief on a mother’s face when she realizes that her sick child will receive aid is something very special.
The donations we receive help support various projects in the countries we serve. For example, we obtain building materials that are used to build basic houses for families without adequate shelter. Other goods-in-kind gifts can then help turn a new house into a “home” by supplying simple furnishings such as beds, tables and chairs that make the space more liveable for the recipient family.
Goods-in-kind donations are also used in orphanages supported by Food For The Poor. We are able to provide essential items such as clothes, bunk beds, cleaning supplies and more to homes that care for precious children who have been orphaned or abandoned. Sometimes we are even able to provide toys or chocolates to young ones for a special celebration such as Christmas.
