Food For The Poor partners with many corporations to make lasting and lifesaving contributions to support the poorest of the poor across the Caribbean and Latin America.
Amerijet International, Inc., has partnered with Food for the Poor to bring lifesaving food and medicine to families and children across the Caribbean and Latin America.
A loyal partner, Chippewa Valley Bean in northwestern Wisconsin has helped build schools in Haiti, and provided beans at low-cost to Food For The Poor in support of our feeding programs. The company believes education is the best way to break the cycle of poverty. Chippewa Valley Bean donations are helping to feed and educate countless children.
Delta Air Lines has partnered with Food For The Poor to provide lifesaving aid and support in the ongoing work to rebuild Haiti.
FedEx Corporation has donated funds to build 12 two-room homes in Honduras and Nicaragua. FedEx contractors in those countries also volunteered their time to help build and paint the homes for needy families. FedEx has also donated funds for two water wells in Guatemala, as well as solar lights in Jamaica.
First Data generously donated the funds needed to feed all the children in our Angels Of Hope orphanages (thousands of children) for two weeks.
General Motors employees volunteered with students from Saint Andrew's School in Boca Raton, FL to build a replica of homes Food For The Poor constructs for needy families in Jamaica. The replica house remained on the school's campus for seven days and served as a teaching tool to bring awareness to the dire living conditions of destitute families in the Caribbean and Latin America.
In partnership with Food For the Poor and Caritas Arquidiocesana, Hormel Foods continues to donate a nutritious product called Spammy™ to destitute families in Guatemala, where the rate of chronic malnutrition is the highest in the Western Hemisphere. Hormel Foods developed Spammy™ with assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's McGovern-Dole Micronutrient Program.
The Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce is a strong supporter of Rachel Wheeler, a Lighthouse Point resident whose fundraising efforts have resulted in hundreds of homes being built for the needy in Haiti. Wheeler began fundraising for Haiti at 9 years old. Today, she's a teenager, and she's still working to raise funds to build more homes. The Lighthouse Point Chamber of Commerce has supported her along the way.
Royal Caribbean International has partnered with Food For The Poor to deliver aid and goods to the destitute in Haiti. The cruise line has also supported several Food For The Poor galas, with proceeds meeting the dire housing needs of many Haitians in need of shelter.
Ruby Tuesday patrons have been given the opportunity to donate 20 percent of their purchase on a particular day to Food For The Poor, in an effort to feed hungry children across the Caribbean and Latin America.
TD Bank is a loyal Food For The Poor partner, supporting numerous galas, with proceeds benefiting those with inadequate shelter across the Caribbean and Latin America. TD Bank is also a longtime sponsor of FFP's 5K Walk/Run For Hunger.
Toshiba helped feed the hungry one step at a time as a sponsor of our 2014 5K Walk/Run For Hunger. The company also sponsored our 19th annual Building Hope Gala, which raised funds to construct homes for families in desperate need of shelter in Ganthier, Haiti.
United Way of Miami-Dade grant money has built homes for families in need in Belle-Anse and Jacmel, Haiti, as well as provided food and emergency relief assistance. United Way Worldwide, United Way for Southeastern Michigan and the United Auto Workers also donated four trucks to Food For The Poor, which are being used to deliver lifesaving food, medicine and critically needed housing supplies.
UPS has helped to improve the lives of dozens of families in the Dominican Republic. The company provided for the installation of a 12,000-gallon concrete water tank, which pumps clean well water to the tiny community of Rancho Nuevo, near Puerto Plata. UPS has also supported the construction of a 3,000-square-feet greenhouse in Batey Antonci, Monte Plata.
In partnership with the Miami Marlins, Waste Management donated 10 two-room homes to Inspiration Village in Malfety, Haiti. Waste Management was also a sponsor of Food For The Poor's 2014 5K Walk/Run For Hunger.
Our partnership with Wells Fargo has fed and nourished hungry children and families across the Caribbean and Latin America. Wells Fargo is also a longtime sponsor of Food For The Poor's 5K Walk/Run For Hunger.
Whole Foods Market has partnered with Food For The Poor on countless projects, and has been recognized as an Ambassador For The Poor. Through the Haitian Relief Fund, its customers have donated thousands of dollars to FFP's ongoing efforts to bring lifesaving relief to victims of disasters in Haiti. The company has also sponsored FFP's 5K Walk/Run for Hunger, whose proceeds help feed thousands of starving children and families across the Caribbean and Latin America.
