Frequently Asked Questions
What type of personal fundraising page should I create?
You decide what area of need you want to raise money for, set your goals and begin outreach on behalf of suffering families. Choose a cause that you are passionate about. Whether you set up a group page, a birthday fund or focus on building homes in Haiti; you should chose a cause that is close to your heart.
How will people find out about my Champions For The Poor page?
You can reach out to friends, family, and acquaintances through an email asking them to visit your page. In the email you will provide a link to your page and a call to action for your cause. This is the first step. For more ideas on how to promote your page, click on Fundraising Tools.
How do I raise money for my cause?
Once you create a Champions page you will have access to the Champion Center where you will have tools that help you reach out to family and friends via the web with your own custimized URL.
Where do the funds I raise go?
We attach a source code to each fund to ensure that the money you raise goes to the area of need you want to support. For example, if you are raising money to build houses, funds will be directed to housing. If a need isn’t specified, money will go to our general fund.
Can someone help me with my Champion page?
Yes! Our Emerging Media department will be happy to help you or we can put you in touch with a coordinator as a point of contact with Food For The Poor. Email champions@foodforthepoor.org to get started.
If you were unable to find the answer to your question list above, please email your question to champions@foodforthepoor.org and the Champion Program Coordinator will respond shorthly.
