Countless parents in Haiti are finding themselves in a traumatic position every day. Widespread poverty and rising food prices are forcing desperate parents to cobble together makeshift meals for their hungry children — which in some cases may include improvised remedies like leaves, grass, dirty water, or even mud.

A lack of food isn’t the only problem. Millions in Haiti are suffering without the medicine they need to live healthy lives, and languishing without an education or a safe place to call home.

We are doing all we can to make sure Haiti’s poorest people get what they need to survive, but our resources are stretched to the limit. Right now we have more than $17.9 million worth of food and other essential aid waiting to be sent, but we need to raise more than $1 million to ship and distribute these goods.
