Desperate Assistance Needed
The Little Children of Jesus Home was established to care for the voiceless, defenseless, and abandoned children of Haiti.
When a crisis like a natural disaster occurs, it endangers the livelihood of these children, especially when their current home is not nearly adequate enough to withstand torrential rains.
Recent storms have flooded the facilities and exposed the children to waterborne diseases. Efforts to pump the water out have been futile — the stagnated water quickly became a pond. With hurricane season fast approaching, the very existence of the home is threatened.
To safely evacuate 100-plus physically impaired children under extreme duress from their home would be next to impossible. We have recently identified another location, where the children can live without fear of being uprooted. However, in order to operate as a standard facility for those needing special physical care, the building must undergo major repairs. Food for the Poor urgently needs your help.
The home offers some of this country’s most vulnerable children a haven where they are nurtured and loved — many for the first time in their lives. The orphanage provides care for 100 mentally and physically disabled children. The children receive shelter, food, clothing, medical services, physical therapy, education instruction, love and care.
