DAY 1
. Visit the Food For The Poor office in Coconut Creek, FL.
. Greeting by senior staff.
. Tour the facility and meet the local staff.
. Casual lunch.
. Overnight in Ft. Lauderdale (hotel close to airport).
. Dinner and orientation meeting.
DAY 2
. Morning departure from Ft. Lauderdale (or Miami in some exceptional cases).
. Arrival in Port-au-Prince.
. Visit Nativity Village, Food For The Poor’s housing project for the poor. Here you will see examples of the solid concrete houses we build in Haiti, rescuing the poor from their previous homes of mud and sticks.
. Visit La Madeleine Clinic. At this clinic, you will meet the dedicated doctors and nurses who treat the sick. This is a clinic for the indigent, many of whom could not otherwise afford medical care.
. Visit Food For The Poor’s complex, including the Food For The Poor Clinic, warehouse and feeding center. At our extensive warehouse complex in Port-au-Prince, you will see the wide scope of our work in Haiti, the center from which all of our aid flows. Our clinic treats poor Haitians who cannot afford medical care, while our feeding center feeds thousands every weekday.
. Lunch at Food For The Poor’s complex.
. Visit Santo Farm. At this sprawling farm owned by Food For The Poor, you will see how our feeding program is supported by a self-sufficient operation in which we grow some of our own food to feed the hungry.
. Return to the hotel or retreat center.
. Dinner followed by a reflection meeting. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts and spiritual insights with other pilgrims.
DAY 3
. Breakfast at the hotel or the retreat center.
. Visit Our Lady of Wisdom Girls’ School. This girls’ school was specially built to accommodate the educational needs of the girls at our orphanage. Local neighborhood girls also attend the school.
.Visit House of Love Girls’ Orphanage. Some of the girls at this home were abandoned because their parents were too poor to care for them. You will be treated to songs by our girls, who are learning to speak both French and English.
. Visit Food For The Poor’s Village for the Elderly. Our village houses more than 300 elderly residents, many of whom were found living on the streets of Port-au-Prince. These delightful elderly residents will lift your spirits with their unflagging cheerfulness, rich spiritual insights and love of the Lord.
. Return to the hotel or retreat center.
. Dinner followed by a reflection meeting.
DAY 4
. Breakfast at the hotel or retreat center.
. Departure to the airport.
. Arrival in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.
