A Safe Place to Call Home…

Imagine for a moment you’ve lost your home. With no one to assist and nowhere to go, you gather up your small children and begin a desperate search for any sort of structure that will keep your family safe. After a day or rummaging through trash piles and looking for material, you manage to piece together a crude shack with dirt for a floor and sheets of plastic for a roof. As you try to comfort your hungry, scared children, the rain starts to fall…

Sound scary? This is the harsh reality being faced by mothers like Rosa Amilda Reyes, who for 10 years has lived beneath scraps of plastic in rural Honduras.

“Every day I pray that God will help me get a better home for my children,” Rosa said.
