Building the Hope Friendship Village 9th Annual Rockford Fundraising Event
The evening is hosted by the Hope for Haitians Committee. Guests will be treated to a fun evening, including a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a lovely dinner. The silent auction, with art and collectibles from the Caribbean and Latin America, will also include jewelry, vacations, original art, golf foursomes and other great prizes. Guests will then enjoy a sit-down dinner with friends. Guest speaker will be Delane Bailey-Herd, Food For The Poor Project Manager for Haiti. The VillageThe proceeds from the event will be used to continue construction on the Hope Friendship Village in Chastenoye, Cap-Haitien, Haiti. Destitute families living in the swamp area in Prolongé will be rescued and moved into a thriving new village in Chastenoye, Haiti. The village will consist of 50 double-unit concrete homes, 50 sanitation units, inclusive of a pit latrine and shower stall, one artesian well, a community center, and an animal husbandry farm for rearing goats and cows. Also, the surrounding land will be cleared for planting and cultivating cassava, yucca, breadfruit and corn.
