PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti, CMC – Taiwan’s first lady Chow Mei-ching has ended a two-day humanitarian visit to earthquake battered Haiti visiting a number of refugee camps and meeting four children who are being sponsored by herself and President Ma Ying-jeou.
The visit here, which was not given official status, allowed Chow to visit an orphanage, the non-governmental organization Food For The Poor, a World Vision childcare center and a number of refugee camps, offering comfort to people left homeless by the January 12 earthquake that killed an estimated 300,000 people.
