Belize is a beautiful Central American country about the size of Massachusetts. Poverty is widespread, however, with more than 41 percent of the population living below the poverty line.
Food For The Poor began working in Belize in 1986. The international relief and development organization helps local groups that serve in the Central American country. These local organizations assist impoverished rural communities, providing help to more than 2,500 families and 44 schools throughout the country.
