Bull Bay Fishing Village is a prime example of how FFP helps the poor through micro-enterprise projects. Motors provided for the boats resulted in a larger, more varied, catch of fish.

A Very Special Journey…
During Thanksgiving week, Food For The Poor will conduct a pilgrimage to Kingston, Jamaica, to visit various projects for food, medical care, housing, education, fishing villages, water and orphanages. Each day, pilgrims will visit and pray with the poor. In the evenings they will gather as a group to reflect upon the experiences of each day with Food For The Poor's Father Paul Wilderotter. On Thanksgiving morning, pilgrims will visit a homeless shelter to deliver a meal and pray with those less fortunate.
Families benefit greatly from the shared experience a pilgrimage can provide. There is nothing more touching than seeing, first hand, the people whose lives benefit from your generosity.

This season of gratitude can be a time to contemplate the many blessings in our lives. Yet, so many of God's children live in need. Communing with the poor provides the gift of inspiration because, while they have few material possessions, they reflect a Christ-like attitude in their humble ways of faith and fortitude.
The people you encounter on your pilgrimage will affirm that your donations to Food For The Poor are well spent ensuring a solid future and foundation for Jamaica.
