A Message From the President
Come with us on a journey you will never forget. I want to extend a personal invitation for you to join us on a Food For The Poor pilgrimage and discover God’s very real and powerful presence in today’s troubled world.
Since the founding of our organization in 1982, people from across the country have traveled on pilgrimages to visit our poor brothers and sisters in the Caribbean and Latin America. Each pilgrimage provides a unique opportunity to visit with the poor and see firsthand the work that is accomplished for the glory of God.
I invite you to walk through a pilgrimage by taking a close look at the photo album and viewing A Pilgrim’s Journey video. Our pilgrimages are carefully coordinated and conducted by an experienced pilgrimage tour leader and, where necessary, a translator. You will see firsthand the heartbreaking conditions in which many of God’s children live, and then visit the various programs supported by Food For The Poor; from schools, orphanages, clinics and hospices to the hungry being fed at our feeding programs.
Your trip will be a blessing you’ll always remember. You will meet the dedicated missionaries who work firsthand with the poor. You’ll see for yourself the deep faith of people who rely upon the Lord’s mercy. And your heart will be touched when you hug an orphan child or share a poor family’s excitement at having a real home for the very first time.
You’ll see how our generous donors in the U.S. make a real difference in the lives of the poor and why our work is so important to the missionaries who depend on us. Many pilgrims find a deeper understanding of God’s grace as they come face-to-face with poverty in developing countries such as Jamaica or Haiti.
Please join us on a journey you will never forget, by taking a Food For The Poor pilgrimage. You will experience the spiritual adventure of a lifetime.
A servant of the poor,
Robin G. Mahfood
