Online Prayer Requests and Christian Devotional"Again He asked, ‘What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough’.”
(Luke 13:20-21) May 12 - 18, 2013
Heavenly Father, Most loving God, grant us the "elbow grace” to do the hard work of kneading Your kingdom into the societies of humankind that we serve. May we have strength and forbearance, the hope and hunger to humbly serve You in Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen Christ is alive and can be served directly by serving
Christian Prayer ServicesAll of us face life’s challenges daily, and at times also have cause to celebrate moments of special blessing. We invite you to contact us during these times so that we can join with you in prayer. Food For The Poor's ministry reflects God's unconditional love, which surrenders all, inspires trust and faith, and embraces all people, regardless of race, status or creed. We believe that Christ is alive, and that we can best serve Him by assisting those in greatest need. (Matthew 25:40) Accordingly, we encourage regular prayer to guide and maintain the purity of our mission. Prayer is a fundamental part of our ministry. At our headquarters in Coconut Creek, Florida, Food For The Poor staff members hold daily prayer services. We receive prayer requests through the mail, by telephone or through our Web site, and we regularly pray for the poor as well as for our donors and their needs. Our prayer services renew our sense of mission and offer inspiration for the work that we do each day.
Monthly Devotional
May Prayer“But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” (1 Timothy 1:5 )
Gracious Heavenly Father, we come with thanksgiving to You for the mothers You have placed in our lives. They were our first teachers and role models. They taught us many wonderful things even before we could speak. The touch of their hands always gave comfort. There was soothing assurance in their voices. Their presence satisfied needs known and unknown. Their inner peace saturated every room they entered. They possessed a special ability to hear and answer unspoken thoughts. Like You, Lord, their eyes were filled with joy when they looked upon us. Father, we thank you for instilling in mothers character traits that reflect You, thereby, making it a natural transition for us to trust You. Bless mothers everywhere whokeep You first in their lives as they nurture their children. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen and Amen
