O God, our Father, from whom every good gift comes, send Your Spirit into our lives. Open our hearts and the horizons of our minds. Loosen our tongues that we may sing and proclaim your praises. Your Spirit gives us courage to proclaim to all the world that You are Lord of all. May our actions be so infused with the power of the Holy Spirit, that all who interact with us this day, may feel your holy and loving presence. We ask this, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it.”
James 1:5 (New American)
Prayer of the Week 07-12-10
I come before You this day, Lord, and ask you to stay near me and guide me that I may not stray from the path of righteousness. At times I am confused and frightened by the rapidly changing events about me. But then I recall Your loving care for me throughout the past, and the parents and people you gave me to look after and support me. Through failures and successes, trials and errors, You have been there for me, O gracious Lord. May I trust in Your faithfulness and love all the days of my life. Amen "The Lord is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth."
(Psalm 145:18) Prayer of the Week 07-06-10
Thank You, Father, for loving and forgiving me. Lord, remind me to show my appreciation for Your gift of mercy by extending that same loving and selfless forgiveness to people who have wronged me. I must remember, Jesus, that You are the only Perfect One- we’re all sinners here. If I refuse to show mercy or forgive others, You will refuse to forgive me. Force me, Lord, to express my gratitude by letting go of the burdens of blaming and judging others. Please find any bitterness that exists in my heart and put love there. I know I must forgive and even love those who have done me harm. This is essential for my salvation. Father, give me all the strength and resolve it will take for me to make love and forgiveness the way of my life. In Jesus’ name... Amen “Mercy triumphs over judgment.”
