Prayer of the Week 02-22-10
Father God, you are the light, the joy, and the unconditional love in our lives! Allow us to think of Your will for us and about helping a neighbor, a friend, and a stranger as we encounter today. Allow us to be humble to others and loving to ourselves. Let everyday I wake up be open, willing and ready to allow your light into the day. May Your presence guide me into every situation that I encounter with love, patience and compassion! Through looking and finding You daily, I know love and can show love from my heart & soul. Your abundance of love blesses me and I give thanks. May everyone know the prosperity of the light of Christ!
Amen "But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you.”
(Psalm 5:7) Prayer of the Week 02-15-10
Father your grace amazes me! Time after time you have shown me your mercy. How faithful you are to me. Your compassion is limitless. As I journey this Lenten season help me Lord. Remove the armor in which I clothe myself. I want a relationship with you. I want to be truly yours. Nothing is to great for you to forgive, no relationship so broken that you do not heal it. Lord, I long to know you and love you more. You know me intimately, and yet you invite me this Lent to reveal myself to you. Give me the courage to discover my full humanity as your beloved. Open my eyes to see the many ways you are pouring out your love on your poorest of the poor. Please open my lips to praise and thank you in response. In the Name of Jesus we pray.
Amen "You shall eat and be filled, and shall praise the name of the Lord Your God. My people shall never be put to shame. And you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel; I am the Lord, your God, and there is no other; my people shall nevermore be put to shame."
(Joel 2:26-27) Prayer of the Week 02-08-10
Our Great God and Father, we are humbled and amazed at your great compassion and love for us. Lord it is comforting to know that when our very foundation has crumbled You are the Certain Rock that can never be shaken or moved. Father you have promised that your love is unconditional and unending. Father while we may not understand the reason for all that has happened in Haiti and other places, by faith we will believe and continue to trust you for the best outcome. Lord give physical, emotional and spiritual strength where needed, we ask this in Jesus name.
Amen "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
(Romans 8:38-39) Prayer of the Week 02-01-10
Father God, we come with weary hearts, shattered bodies, distressed minds looking for our loved ones buried beneath the rubble of our beloved city Haiti. Father we know that your presence surrounds them whether they are alive or have fallen asleep in your arms. Help us to remember that your eyes are upon those who honor and respect you. You tell us that your eyes are on the sparrow so we know that your eyes are upon them. Heavenly Father there is an empty space within us that longs for their presence. Fill that emptiness with your comfort and peace. We thank you for their time with us. Help us to continue their faithful example of service to you as we wait our reunion before your throne. Father we know that all those who are helping are being directed by you. And we ask that you would strengthen and protect them. Give them wisdom all the decisions that have to be made.
Amen "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
