May 2010 Prayers
O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole human family; Take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; Break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; And work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; That, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
(1 Peter 3:8)
O Lord, sometimes my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak. At other times, my spirit is not so willing. When faced with temptation, obstacles, or daily disruptions, may I reflect upon all the blessings and joys in my life. May my thoughts and actions move beyond whatever keeps me from union with You. God, your love is unending. My heart sings and declares how wonderful and glorious you are! May my actions today and everyday bring you glory and honor.
Amen
(Psalm 51)
Thank you Heavenly Father for the women you have placed in my life.
I know You are with me at all time but sometimes I need a physical touch to remind me of your presence. I receive such a touch from the women I call mama, auntie, grand-mama, and sister.
It is beyond explanation how their touch upon my fevered brow seems to activate the cooling process. Their smiles give me hope, encouragement, motivation to keep striving. And, their hugs give me such a feeling of security and concern for my wellbeing.
Thank you Father, for their sweet voices that tell me I am someone special, I am loved, appreciated and cherished. The love Jesus demonstrated upon the cross is expressed to me through the actions of these loving women who have encircled me in their hearts.
Father, bless every woman who has accepted the mantle of motherhood.
Amen
(1 Peter 3:3-4)
Our Father, how grateful we are that You are our shepherd. How wonderful to know that you are the anchor beneath our every step. Forgive us for forgetting your promises to meet our every need more abundantly than we can imagine. May we walk in the knowledge that no matter where we tred you are already there and have prepared a place for us. Guide us this day to someone without another to share a kind word or touch. May we share our peace with those needing to give their concerns to You. In Jesus name we pray,
Amen
in all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make your paths straight.”
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
