| "Give us this day our daily bread." (Matthew 6:11, KJV) |
Equipped only with an empty backpack, 10-year-old Widline Jeannut stands on the front line of her family’s fight against hunger. In Haiti, Widline’s mother sends her to one of Food For The Poor’s Port-au-Prince feeding centers every day to retrieve food for their impoverished family. At home, Widline’s mother cares for her newborn.
Every day, our Port-au-Prince feeding centers overflow with hungry, malnourished families begging for their daily bread.
The centers feed approximately 15,000 people each weekday.
When she receives food, Widline stuffs a large bowl of rice into her backpack and carries it to her family. Extreme poverty has fastened a tight grip on Widline’s life. Without consistent nutrition from the food you help provide, her chances of escaping the clutches of poverty lessen every day.
Our feeding centers act as lifelines for thousands of poor children and families across Latin America and the Caribbean — and your loving support helps make this possible. God bless you for offering desperate families food for today and hope for tomorrow.
