"Lord,...When did we see You ill or in prison, and visit You?" (Matthew 25:37b,39)

At a nutritional center in Matagalpa, Nicaragua, children are nursed back to health with a combination of food, love and faith. Our supporter's gifts help centers like this save the lives of precious children who might otherwise suffer a painful, and often preventable, death.
Adriana Bracamonte, who runs the center, recalls a little girl’s dire situation: “One girl came in totally infected [with parasites]. The doctor said she wouldn’t survive. Her mother told us, ‘If she’s going to die, I want her to die here where it’s clean.’ We were able to save her.”
Food For The Poor supports hospitals, clinics and nutritional centers throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. These facilities provide lifesaving care and services at little or no cost. These organizations rely solely on the kindness and generosity of people to keep their doors open and pay their expenses. Although providing care can be costly, saving lives is a priceless gift.
In addition to dispensing food, medicine and medical treatment, many of these organizations also educate parents about basic healthcare issues. “We teach the parents about nutrition, hygiene, the importance of washing hands and boiling drinking water,” says Ms. Bracamonte.
Your continued support for medical programs is both critically important and greatly appreciated. Please remember to pray for the sick, the hungry and all who suffer — as well as for those who care for them.
