Old well
Many Haitians have only contaminated water sources.

The Strength of Community
Jesus understood the importance of community and fellowship. He chose the setting of the last supper and breaking bread with His disciples to teach them about true community. “…love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34b-35)

Food For The Poor strives to share Christ’s love by aiding our poorest brothers and sisters in Haiti. New Life, New Hope will strengthen the bonds of community by providing life’s basic essentials, giving the poor the dignity every human being deserves. Our villages will feature sanitation blocks with toilets and showers. Wells for fresh drinking water. And a community center where they can gather to worship and praise God, as well as receive job training and education.

Some poor Haitians mush bathe beside garbage-strewn riverbanks littered with animal feces.

Water Wells
Clean drinking water is essential to healthy living. Many Haitians struggle to find adequate water supplies. Thousands of children die from disease caused by drinking contaminated water. Our New Life, New Hope communities will have water projects suited for each villages’ needs. Be it a cistern or a well pump, the community will have fresh, safe drinking water.

Sanitation blocks
Sanitation blocks offer destitute Haitians basics that we take for granted, like toilets and showers.

Sanitation Blocks
Poor sanitation can lead to life-threatening diseases such as typhoid. Proper sanitation is essential to the health and welfare of a thriving community. Concrete sanitation blocks consisting of multiple toilets and showers will be constructed, with an allotted amount of families sharing them.

  Safe drinking water
Safe drinking water is an invaluable commodity for parched villagers.

Thriving communities need a place to assemble. Each village will have a concrete-block multipurpose center suitable for group activities. Residents can hold worship services and attend job training classes. The facilities can also serve as schools to provide children with the skills they need to have a better future. New Life, New Hope seeks to empower the poor by establishing strong communities. By enhancing their quality of life, we strengthen the foundation of Christian solidarity. We share Christ’s love, following His commandment to love one another by bringing new life and new hope to the suffering poor.
