Haiti Trip with Lynn University Students
I went on a very memorable trip to Haiti with a number of Lynn University students and some of their faculty and staff members. This evolved from a relationship with Father Marty Devereaux, who is the Chaplain at Lynn University and the faculty advisor (guidance counselor) for the Neumann Club. Father Marty went on a pilgrimage with Food For The Poor previously and he certainly was on fire about the poverty he witnessed and helping the poor. He went back to Lynn University and spoke to all the powers that be there. They actually have a program already where some students travel abroad as part of their social studies curriculum. They decided to try a pilgrimage to Haiti with Food For The Poor. It was truly wonderful that the entire trip was underwritten by one of our very generous long-time donors who is a friend of Father Marty and he paid for everyone in the group to go on this trip, including students, faculty and staff. We are very grateful to him for this because, by doing so, he and his wife have brought awareness of our mission to many people.
