Starving children aren’t aware
of rising food and fuel costs.
All they know is hunger.
Guatemala continues to have the highest rate of child malnutrition in the region, and Haiti remains the poorest country in our hemisphere.
In Guatemala’s remote mountain areas, children are dying at alarming rates. In Haiti, hungry families must resort to eating mud “cookies” made from dirt, salt and bouillon.
That’s why Food For The Poor had to accept offers of nearly $11 million worth of food for hungry children in Guatemala and Haiti — even though we don’t have the money to ship it.
This shipment of more than 34 million pounds of food will be a lifeline to malnourished children in these famished areas. Because the food is already paid for, every $1 you donate will ship $4.69 worth of food to hungry families. With global food prices skyrocketing — especially in developing nations — we cannot stress enough how unique and important this opportunity is.
During times of economic turbulence, the poor are always the most vulnerable. Poor families do not have the luxury of “cutting back” like we do when food prices rise. They must simply go without.
For the sake of suffering children, we cannot bear the thought of missing out on this opportunity to help so many. Please help us bring relief to hungry, suffering little ones by sending your gift today. May God bless you.
“As each one has received a gift,
use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
(1 Peter 4:10)
Please, do what you can to help Food For The Poor bring lifesaving food to poverty-stricken families. Your help is urgently needed.
