Positions Available

Accounting Assistant – Accounting Department

Overall Responsibilities:

Support the Accounting Department and enhance the integrity of its operations by managing the completion of multiple simultaneous projects. These projects may include accounts payable data entry, and invoice processing that includes scanning, filing, batching and final check preparations. Additionally, this position will coordinate departmental interactions with donors to include correspondences regarding stock donations and return-check notifications.

  • Accounts payable invoice entry or upload into Microsoft Dynamics NAV software
  • Scanning of invoices into Accounts Payable scanning software
  • Handling of paid check information for archiving, including scanning and filing
  • Creation and transmission of donor acknowledgment letters
  • Maintain spreadsheets of data required by other Food For The Poor departments
  • Assist accounting staff with daily processing duties and other projects
Skill & Qualifications:
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Resourceful, self-motivated with a sense of urgency and strong work ethic

Bonded Warehouse Specialist

This is a great opportunity to use your knowledge working with US Customs to help Food For The Poor facilitate proper delivery of goods to the Caribbean and Latin America.

Overall Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing all aspects of Food For The Poor’s, Inc. bonded warehouse in a safe and cost efficient manner while adhering to all US Customs procedures.

Skill & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of bonded warehouse requirements
  • Advanced working knowledge with ERP inventory control software with advanced knowledge of inventory processing and controls
  • Safety management
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics and delivery methods
  • Knowledge of warehousing costs for outside contracting of services
  • Advanced computer skills and warehouse systems knowledge

Director of Donor Gift Processing

Food For The Poor is looking for someone to take on a rewarding management position in our Donor Gift Processing Department, which supports the organization’s efforts to meet the needs of the poor. Overall Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of the Donor Gift Processing Department with emphasis on management and processes to reduce organizational risk and increase efficiency. This is a full-time management position.

  • Manage all aspects of the Donor Gift Processing Department, including operations and staff
  • Prepare annual departmental budget and strategy for department
  • Create and maintain operational procedures
  • Maintain and secure files (including hard copy and digital) relating to all deposits reports
  • Identify and implement areas for process improvement
  • Process monthly and annual reconciliation of gifts received from donors
  • Effectively communicate with other departments regarding processing or donor issues
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Specialist

Director of Planned Giving

Overall Responsibilities:

Develop, promote, and expand the planned giving program and direct program activities in coordination with the organization’s fundraising efforts to achieve goals, prepare departmental budget, manage departmental operations and staff, and network with outside groups and individuals to promote Food For The Poor’s planned giving programs. This is a full-time, management position in the Planned Giving Department.

Outbound Caller – Church Assignment Coordinator

Contact churches throughout the United States to obtain, schedule and coordinate weekend visits for clergy speakers to share the plight of the poor on behalf of Food For The Poor.

Clergy for our Speakers Bureau
