Bilingual - Gifts in Kind - Partner Relations Coordinator

Are you someone who wants to help bring lifesaving aid to poverty-stricken families? By ensuring that Food For The Poor maintains and strengthens donor partnerships, we can access much-needed food, medicine and other essential items that directly support established partners in the countries we serve. A Gifts in Kind, Partner Relations Coordinator at Food For The Poor furthers our organization’s mission of serving those in greatest need.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with Gifts in Kind NGO, governmental and corporate partners.
  • Coordinate the logistics and processing of in-kind donations.
  • Identify and coordinate donor initiatives and programmatic donations.
  • Work interdepartmentally to complement in-kind donations with programs and projects.
  • Coordinate a needs-driven approach for donations between the countries and donor partners.
  • Research and contact new donors (donor acquisition).
  • Perform administrative duties and provide assistance as needed to department members.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with in-kind donor partnerships and development
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally several times a year
  • Demonstrate ability to coordinate donations and initiatives concurrently
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Bilingual (English/Spanish) Donor Services Representative/Front Desk – Donor Services Department

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Respond to and/or initiate telephone calls, written correspondence, or emails from/to donors and other individuals who have questions, complaints or request information
  • Perform front desk receptionist responsibilities, including answering incoming phone calls, utilizing paging system and greeting visitors
  • Make changes and/or corrections to donor records and follow up on shipping of orders
  • Correct and update donation information in Convio, our fundraising software program
  • Process donations and requests for memorial cards and special occasion events (birthday, anniversary, baptism, illness, wedding, etc.)
  • Generate appropriate thank-you and memorial letters to individuals making donations
  • Process various donors’ requests
  • Maintain daily activity log
  • Multitasking responsibilities, including answering incoming calls, making outbound calls and processing outbound correspondence using mail merge
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Donor Services Supervisor/Manager/Director

Food For The Poor is seeking a dynamic individual with technical writing experience to take on a rewarding position in our Projects Department. Your hard work will result in tremendous blessings for the people we serve in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Overall Responsibilities:

Create proposals and reports according to technical, development and business guidelines. Conduct research and communicate effectively with organization personnel. Travel may be required to conduct research and to meet with involved parties.

In addition to strong writing and editing skills, which include knowledge of grant writing techniques, the candidate should be a detail-oriented team player who possesses strong organizational and decision-making skills. The candidate must be proficient with data analytics and financial analysis, be able to meet deadlines, and be capable of working both independently and in groups. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask are essential for the position. This position will also require researching in-house data and linking work from different departments within the organization.

  • Must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Essential to have strong research skills, and the ability to write persuasive and articulate proposals.
  • Must be able to work closely with various departments to understand synergies between them.
  • Ability to interpret data from different development perspectives, and be able to communicate it simply in written form.

Emerging Channels Marketing Specialist

Food For The Poor is seeking an Emerging Channels Marketing Specialist. This dedicated professional will work with the Emerging Media Director, Emerging Channels Manager, and outside partners to develop and grow assigned digital media marketing, such as peer-to-peer fundraisers, text marketing, SEM/SEO, display, social media and additional digital channels, with the goal of maximizing existing donor cultivation and new donor acquisition through channel conversions.

Bilingual Reporting Specialist – Gifts In Kind

If you are bilingual English/Spanish, organized, detail-oriented and possess great customer service skills, you may be just the person we are looking for to join Food for the Poor’s Gifts In Kind Department. This is a full-time position.

Overall Responsibilities:

This position provides support and supervision to our GIK in country beneficiaries. The Reporting Specialist tracks GIK shipments to ensure a timely clearance process to avoid costly expenses. The Reporting Specialist is responsible for examining beneficiary reporting to maintain compliance with our donor commitments, and keeping management informed on a continual basis.

Our Gifts In Kind Department is seeking an experienced bilingual Administrative Assistant who is well organized, flexible and will enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting this diverse department. Our Gifts In Kind Department ensures that large quantities of food, medicine and other essential items are successfully procured from nonprofit organizations and corporate donors. The candidate should possess the ability to interact with staff at all levels, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be resourceful and efficient while maintaining a high level of professionalism. This is a full-time position.

Overall Responsibilities:

This position provides administrative support to the Gifts In Kind Department including, but not limited to, telephone work, composing correspondences and special assignments. This position reports to other department managers when the Director is out of office.

Bilingual Editor/Writer

Food For The Poor is seeking an experienced English-Spanish Editor/Writer who has a keen eye for detail and has the ability to see the “big picture” in optimizing fundraising and storytelling.

Overall Responsibilities:

Participate in concept development and brainstorming for fundraising campaigns that align with overall organizational brand.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Native Spanish speaker, preferably educated in a Spanish-speaking country, but who doesn’t struggle with the English language
  • Strong writing skills in both English and Spanish
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills, including strong knowledge of grammar and punctuation, in both English and Spanish
  • Highly organized with compulsive attention to detail
  • Familiarity with interdenominational Christian beliefs/doctrines and ability to effectively integrate them in messaging

Contact churches throughout the United States to obtain, schedule and coordinate weekend visits for clergy speakers to share the plight of the poor on behalf of Food For The Poor.
