Programmer / Analyst – Information Systems Department

Our Information Systems Department is seeking a Programmer/Analyst. If you have programming experience and enjoy writing or modifying programs, analyzing specifications into appropriate computer language, and performing testing solutions, this job is for you. This is a full-time position.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Write new, or modify existing computer programs or queries by coding instructions into machine-readable form
  • Test all programs for functionality in a test environment before submitting to manager
  • Create and maintain documentation, file layout, and source code dictionaries related to applications developed in-house
  • Create user manuals, as needed, and provide required user training on new or existing systems
  • Act as a resource person to solve computer problems for users

Business Analyst – Information Systems Department

Are you an organized, analytical, project-driven team player? Food For The Poor is seeking a professional to identify the needs of our departments company-wide as a liaison for the Information Systems Department. This is a full-time position in our IS Department.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Understanding the needs of departments company-wide
  • Facilitating the negotiation of requirements amongst multiple stakeholders
  • Identifying the current and future state business processes
  • Helping the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support the future
  • Creating, analyzing and validating detailed functional specifications
  • Facilitating design sessions with the implementation team to define solutions
  • Delivering elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, or other detailed deliverables

Data Systems Analyst – Information Systems Department

Food For The Poor, Inc. is seeking a Data Systems Analyst to join our Information Systems Department. If you have experience working with BI Reporting, SQL databases, Microsoft Office and general database administration, please apply for this unique opportunity. This is a full-time position and the hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Process selects for various reporting and department needs
  • Maintain and update various BI reports including dashboards
  • Create reporting in BI system, including new dashboard development and automation
  • Determine data sources for report development
  • Analyze report data for inconsistencies, errors and trends
  • Analyze and document business requirements for software application projects
  • Provide user training
  • Provide backup to other IS personnel
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent logic and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of report writing tools (IBI), databases (SQL), Microsoft Office products, general database administration
  • Position requires ability to work on various projects (related and unrelated) simultaneously

Photographer

Would you like to use your photographic expertise to help the less fortunate in developing countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America? As a Staff Photographer, you'll travel throughout the Caribbean and Latin America to document stories of need and work within the Creative Department to create compelling fundraising/marketing materials through storytelling for the organization. The work of the Staff Photographer will play a key role in fundraising to further Food For The Poor's mission to provide emergency aid and long-term development projects for the impoverished. The Staff Photographer position is an in-office position with some travel.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Apply critical thinking to photo selection, story content and general fundraising ideas with the Creative team.
  • Coordinate story gathering trips with the organization's partners.
  • Participate in travel planning meetings and for coordinating story gathering trips.
  • Travel to countries served by Food For The Poor to photograph and document the plight of the poor.
  • Serve as in-house photographer documenting various events and public relation opportunities.
  • Responsible for all photographic editorial functions including editing, key wording, toning, scanning, preparing files, etc. for use in fundraising, public relations and other marketing functions.
  • Processes photographs and creates/maintains digital photo archive.
  • Provide in-house support to fulfill photographic requests from clients and Creative team.
Skills and Qualifications:

Director of Planned Giving

Overall Responsibilities:

Develop, promote, and expand the planned giving program and direct program activities in coordination with the organization’s fundraising efforts to achieve goals, prepare departmental budget, manage departmental operations and staff, and network with outside groups and individuals to promote Food For The Poor’s planned giving programs. This is a full-time, management position in the Planned Giving Department.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Broad, in-depth knowledge and understanding of planned giving products/programs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to establish rapport and build relationships with individuals
  • Good planning and organizational skills

Clergy for our Speakers Bureau

As opportunities become available throughout the year, we hire English-speaking and bilingual (Spanish/English) Catholic and Episcopal priests and Lutheran pastors.

Your participation will open hearts to the gospel message and create public awareness of the Third World’s plight.Through your involvement, you will help Food For The Poor provide needy families with food, medicine, basic housing, education and more.
