Bilingual Reporting Specialist – Gifts In Kind

If you are bilingual English/Spanish, organized, detail-oriented and possess great customer service skills, you may be just the person we are looking for to join Food for the Poor’s Gifts In Kind Department. This is a full-time position.

Overall Responsibilities:

This position provides support and supervision to our GIK in country beneficiaries. The Reporting Specialist tracks GIK shipments to ensure a timely clearance process to avoid costly expenses. The Reporting Specialist is responsible for examining beneficiary reporting to maintain compliance with our donor commitments, and keeping management informed on a continual basis.

Our Gifts In Kind Department is seeking an experienced bilingual Administrative Assistant who is well organized, flexible and will enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting this diverse department. Our Gifts In Kind Department ensures that large quantities of food, medicine and other essential items are successfully procured from nonprofit organizations and corporate donors. The candidate should possess the ability to interact with staff at all levels, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be resourceful and efficient while maintaining a high level of professionalism. This is a full-time position.

Overall Responsibilities:

This position provides administrative support to the Gifts In Kind Department including, but not limited to, telephone work, composing correspondences and special assignments. This position reports to other department managers when the Director is out of office.

Donor Relations Manager

Bilingual Editor/Writer

Food For The Poor is seeking an experienced English-Spanish Editor/Writer who has a keen eye for detail and has the ability to see the “big picture” in optimizing fundraising and storytelling.

Overall Responsibilities:

Participate in concept development and brainstorming for fundraising campaigns that align with overall organizational brand.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Native Spanish speaker, preferably educated in a Spanish-speaking country, but who doesn’t struggle with the English language
  • Strong writing skills in both English and Spanish
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills, including strong knowledge of grammar and punctuation, in both English and Spanish
  • Highly organized with compulsive attention to detail
  • Familiarity with interdenominational Christian beliefs/doctrines and ability to effectively integrate them in messaging

Donor Relations Manager

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight, direction, coaching, and supervision to direct reports to ensure clarity in expectations and successful performance
  • Provide timely feedback and support
  • Develop and lead team practices
  • Achieve annual fundraising goals with assigned teams by monitoring advisor-donor participation rates and trends
  • Interact with other departments on donor issues and related transactions

Outbound Caller – Church Assignment Coordinator

Contact churches throughout the United States to obtain, schedule and coordinate weekend visits for clergy speakers to share the plight of the poor on behalf of Food For The Poor.

Project Manager – Central America

Food For The Poor is seeking a fully bilingual (English and Spanish) Project Manager to oversee its projects and programs in Central America. This position will work closely with fundraisers, internal departments and in-country partners throughout the entire project life cycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-country feasibility studies on projects to determine if they are legitimate, feasible, and in line with organizational policies and beliefs
  • Visit project sites and meet with beneficiaries to discuss project needs and funding requirements
  • Meet with country office director or director of partner organizations to discuss projects, and resolve any problems or challenges in collaboration with in-country personnel
  • Review prospective projects, create proposals, review digital photos and submit to Projects Department administrative staff for proper file processing
  • Monitor funded projects on an ongoing basis to assure timely completion within budget
  • Maintain assignment database lists to reflect actual and current status of specific projects
  • Furnish additional information as required by fundraising departments and/or respond to requests concerning country/projects
  • Research special requests
  • Travel to Central American countries on a monthly basis to monitor and maintain relationships with partner priests, pastors, missionaries and nongovernmental organizations
  • Organize specialized pilgrimages/trips for groups to visit specific projects or areas

Our Information Systems Department has identified a need for a Programmer/Analyst. The ideal candidate will have Visual FoxPro experience as well as broad experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, C#, VB, ASP, SQL Server, etc. If you enjoy writing and modifying programs, here is a ground-level opportunity to hone your skills, while supporting and migrating legacy systems into state-of-the-art technologies. This is a full-time position.

Our Information Systems Department is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer to provide subject matter expertise in the support/development of Business Intelligence (BI) reports/solutions across the organization. The initial primary focus of this position will be to become familiar with existing reporting solutions and the data requirements vital to our business processes and the mission we serve.
