Outbound Caller – Church Assignment Coordinator

Are you organized, determined and enjoy talking on the phone? Are you passionate about building relationships and helping the poor? Food For The Poor is seeking a talented person with integrity who will serve as a direct link between the organization and churches. Your hard work will result in tremendous blessings for needy people in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Responsibilities:

Contact churches throughout the United States to obtain, schedule and coordinate weekend visits for clergy speakers to share the plight of the poor on behalf of Food For The Poor.

Qualifications:
  • Goal orientated with a high level of personal motivation, energy and accountability
  • Outgoing and dynamic communicator with excellent listening, speaking and writing skills

Project Manager – Central America

Food For The Poor is seeking a fully bilingual (English and Spanish) Project Manager to oversee its projects and programs in Central America. This position will work closely with fundraisers, internal departments and in-country partners throughout the entire project life cycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-country feasibility studies on projects to determine if they are legitimate, feasible, and in line with organizational policies and beliefs
  • Visit project sites and meet with beneficiaries to discuss project needs and funding requirements
  • Meet with country office director or director of partner organizations to discuss projects, and resolve any problems or challenges in collaboration with in-country personnel
  • Review prospective projects, create proposals, review digital photos and submit to Projects Department administrative staff for proper file processing
  • Monitor funded projects on an ongoing basis to assure timely completion within budget
  • Maintain assignment database lists to reflect actual and current status of specific projects
  • Furnish additional information as required by fundraising departments and/or respond to requests concerning country/projects
  • Research special requests
  • Travel to Central American countries on a monthly basis to monitor and maintain relationships with partner priests, pastors, missionaries and nongovernmental organizations
  • Organize specialized pilgrimages/trips for groups to visit specific projects or areas
  • Furnish monthly status reports on current projects to country offices and quarterly updates to fundraising departments, including current photos
  • Create status reports on funded projects
  • Produce expense reports upon return from trips and monitor amounts spent per budget
  • Prepare comprehensive trip reports upon return
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in both English and Spanish along with interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and write Spanish effectively
  • Ability to translate and speak Spanish fluently
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50 percent of the time
  • Computer literacy, including typing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Basic photography skills are a plus

Undergraduate degree in business or similar field is preferred. Project coordination/management is preferred.

Experience:

At least five years of work experience is required, preferably in a related field. The position involves interacting with different levels of management and donors. It requires an assertive, flexible individual with strong interpersonal skills. Travel experience is preferred.

Programmer/Analyst – Information Systems Department

Our Information Systems Department has identified a need for a Programmer/Analyst. The ideal candidate will have Visual FoxPro experience as well as broad experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, C#, VB, ASP, SQL Server, etc. If you enjoy writing and modifying programs, here is a ground-level opportunity to hone your skills, while supporting and migrating legacy systems into state-of-the-art technologies. This is a full-time position.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, modify, document, test and support legacy systems
  • Participate in software system design/redesign sessions and contribute to the overall software development process
  • Develop and present .NET software prototypes
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned software applications and respond to user questions, enhancement requests and ensure high system availability
  • Create user manuals, as needed, and provide required user training on new or existing systems

Fulfillment and Review Writer – Projects Department

Food For The Poor is seeking a motivated, organized and detail-oriented writer to play an important role in our Projects Department.

Overall Responsibilities:

As a Fulfillment and Review Writer in our Projects Department, you will be responsible for writing solicitation proposals, status reports and project fulfillments from draft text as supplied by our project managers.

Qualifications:
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to write accurate, concise and compelling reports, making appropriate editorial and grammatical changes as necessary
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential

Donor Services Representative/Front Desk Receptionist

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Respond to and/or initiate telephone calls, written correspondence, or emails from/to donors and other individuals who have questions, complaints or request information
  • Perform front desk receptionist responsibilities, including answering incoming phone calls, utilizing paging system and greeting visitors
  • Make changes and/or corrections to donor records and follow up on shipping of orders
  • Correct and update donation information in Convio, our fundraising software program
  • Process donations and requests for memorial cards, Mass offerings and special occasion events (birthday, anniversary, baptism, illness, wedding, etc.)
  • Generate appropriate thank-you and memorial letters to individuals making donations
  • Process various donors’ requests
  • Maintain daily activity log
  • Multitasking responsibilities, including answering incoming calls, making outbound calls and processing outbound correspondence using mail merge

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will lead and manage the Major Giving Department, develop and nurture relationships with top-tier donors to assist them in identifying and fulfilling their philanthropic goals. Overall Responsibilities:
  • Lead Major Giving Department
  • Develop and maintain on-going relationships with prospects and donors who have the capacity to make philanthropic gifts at the major gift level, six figures and up.
  • Develop and maintain year round relationships with top-tier donors by personally visiting them and assist in the management of the relationships with them.
  • Work to identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors, leveraging personal and professional contacts and relationships into fundraising opportunities
  • Work with team to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward friends of Food For The Poor
  • Manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors and research and works to continually identify, qualify, cultivate relationships

Overall Responsibilities:

Our Information Systems Department is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer to provide subject matter expertise in the support/development of Business Intelligence (BI) reports/solutions across the organization. The initial primary focus of this position will be to become familiar with existing reporting solutions and the data requirements vital to our business processes and the mission we serve.

As the position evolves, the individual in this position will contribute to data management, augmentation and data cleansing, as well as the analysis and design of data and data structures to support application development, data visualizations, reporting and analytics.
