Millions of impoverished children and families in the Caribbean and Latin America live in fragile, rickety huts with roofs that leak and walls full of gaping holes that offer families no protection from insects, rodents, wind or rain.
As construction prices have increased, so has the cost to build a Food For The Poor home. Consequently, effective April 12, the price of a home will increase from $7,600 to $9,800. A contribution to build a home will increase from $3,800 to $4,900. The payment for a pledge toward building a home will be $245 per month and payments will be spread out over 20 months rather than the current 19 months.
A gift for a home made by April 11 guarantees the current price to build a home with sanitation, clean water and furnishings.
A contribution of $3,800, which will be donor matched to build a home with sanitation and clean water, will also remain in effect through April 11. Any $200 monthly pledge to build a home will remain in effect until your gift is paid in full.
Don’t delay! When you give by April 11, you will maximize your gift to help provide a safe home for desperate children and their families. Please be as generous as you can!
