Kendra Scott Gives Back to Food For The Poor’s COVID-19 Relief Efforts

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (April 20, 2020) Supporters of Food For The Poor can shop Kendra Scott online and help the charity fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the countries it serves.

The charity is partnering with national jewelry retailer Kendra Scott to host a virtual event on Tuesday and Wednesday. Donors can use the code GIVEBACK7247 at checkout at

Kendra Scott is donating 20 percent of all proceeds from those coded online purchases on both days to Food For The Poor's COVID-19 relief efforts. Donors can RSVP for the event at

Giving back is part of how Kendra Scott does business. When she launched her namesake jewelry business in 2002, her stepfather's deathbed wish resonated in her mind: "You do good."

Earlier this month, the Austin, Texas-based jeweler announced her company will be aiding in the coronavirus fight by sewing masks out of the brand's custom bandanas.

Kendra Scott's stores at The Mall at Millenia, Orlando, and Mizner Park, Boca Raton, both have hosted shopping events for Food For The Poor in the past, with a percentage of proceeds going to the charity's home-building efforts in Haiti.

Food For The Poor is providing aid to all the countries in which it serves in the face of growing food shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic. The charity is increasing its aid to the countries by 50 percent.

"On behalf of the families in the Caribbean and Latin America who will benefit from the generosity of this virtual event, we thank our donors and Kendra Scott for their generous support," Food For The Poor President/CEO Ed Raine said.

Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of the hungry poor primarily in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicine, educational materials, homes, support for orphaned and abandoned children, care for the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance.
