Miami Valley Homes and Wells For Haiti

Ben & Louise Scott, and Benny & Stacy Scott invite you to help them build 30 homes for children and families living in dire poverty in Savann Kabrit, Haiti, and 25 water wells for impoverished communities throughout Haiti.

Please watch the Scott Family’s Miami Valley Video below, which includes a look at last year’s village progress and the project needs for this year.

Our in-person fundraising gatherings have been canceled because of COVID-19. But the desperate needs of suffering families in Haiti remain. Because of the coronavirus crisis, the biggest need for these families in addition to homes is clean water.

Help Provide 30 Homes

Savann Kabrit is an impoverished community, located in Thomazeau, where residents live in makeshift homes built out of mud, sticks and scrap metal. Living in these conditions exposes the inhabitants to the elements. Your support will help to transform the lives of Haitian families in need who have been praying for safe shelter. This year’s homes will provide shelter for 30 families in Savann Kabrit as our Phase IV of the village.

Help Provide 25 Water Wells

Haiti, much like the rest of the world, is suffering through the coronavirus pandemic. Practicing good hygiene is now more critical than ever to stop the spread of the virus. With many Haitian citizens unable to access clean water, maintaining proper hygiene is even more challenging. Hand-washing and other means of sanitization are imperative in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

People desperate for water are forced to walk 30 to 45 minutes to extract it from sources like rivers or springs that are shared with animals. In some communities, residents drink directly from the street gutters. With your help, we will be able to provide ready access to clean water for families in desperate need, and help them maintain good hygiene during this difficult time.

The Water Wells For Haiti project is responding to the critical water needs of impoverished communities throughout Haiti, and will drill 25 water wells up to 150 feet deep (depending on location), each with a hand pump.

The following communities have been identified as having an immediate need for a water well:

South East Department
  • Cayes-Jacmel – 10 water wells
West Department
  • Petit-Goave/Savanette – 5 water wells
  • Tabarre – 4 water wells
  • Varreux/Croix-des-Bouquets – 6 water wells
