Rachel’s Mission: Build More Homes in Haiti

Determined to make a difference, Rachel’s new goal is to build 20 additional homes

Rachel's Building Initiative

Goal:
$260,000.00
Achieved:
$152,785.84

59 percent of goal achieved.

In November, 12-year-old Rachel Wheeler and NBC Nightly News Chief Medical Editor Dr. Nancy Snyderman were welcomed to “Rachel’s Village” in the coastal village of Kay Piti in Leogane, Haiti. Residents of the village greeted Rachel like their favorite daughter – clapping and singing songs of praise as the sound of musical instruments filled the air. With land now available, her goal is to build homes for an additional 20 families in Rachel’s Village.

The purpose of the trip with the nonprofit Food For The Poor was two-fold – to solidify plans for the expansion of Rachel’s village, and to meet the students who will benefit from the community’s new school.

With the help of generous donors like yourself, Rachel already has raised $167,400 to build 27 two-room homes and $132,000 to build a school complete with educational supplies in Leogane, Haiti and is continuing to raise funds for more homes.

Please continue to donate to Rachel’s initiative, and be the answer to the prayers of families who have nowhere to call home.
